Tik Tok (previously known as Musical.ly) is one of the most popular apps ever, it is a platform
designed for creating, sharing and discovering 15-60 second long videos which people use to
express themselves. It is known for the use of popular songs being lip-synced to, dancing,
comedy acts, story-times and POV’s (point of views).

Body
Description

Where did it come from and who created it?

The app Musical.ly was bought in November 2017 by Chinese developer ByteDance,
for markets outside of China. In August 2018 they merged with the app VideoStar and
rebranded the app to TikTok. TikTok is not available in China however the app Douiyn
is the TikTok equivalent app in China, and its servers are based in countries where the
app is available. TikTok owner ByteDance is a $75 billion Chinese tech giant. At the
beginning of 2019 it had 188 million new users.

Who uses it and how did it become successful?

TikTok is available in 154 countries worldwide with 500 million users. 41% of users are
aged between the age of 16-24, 55.6% of users are Male and 44.4% are female. India
has many users (which is interesting because it is banned in India), and accounts for
approximately 25% of app downloads. TikTok is intended for 13+ users according to the
app's community guidelines. The app can be safe for teens with proper parental guidance.
It is successful because social media is a big thing these days and young people are
embracing it because it is easy to use and entertaining.

It became successful due to the rise of social media through the use of phones and
devices. TikTok’s success is largely due to the popularity of Musical.ly. It is currently
the most popular app in the USA with over 26 million monthly active users. There are
many famous people that use the app such as; Britney Spears, Will Smith, Gordon
Ramsay and The Rock. These famous celebrities bring attention to the app from their
reputations and fan following.

Where and why did it get banned?

TikTok has been banned in two different countries; India and Indonesia. In both countries
the governments felt that it encouraged inappropriate content and was targeting youth
and children. Both countries rescinded the bans after TikTok implemented safety protocols
and age verification policies. Currently TikTok is not banned in any countries.

How do you use it?

1. Download the app and sign up.

2. Set up your profile.

3. View the video feed.

4. Like, comment, or share videos you enjoy.

5. Search for videos.

6. Follow users via videos. search, or TikCode. (Every profile has a code that can be used to
copy and paste and it will take the user to their profile.)

7. Set up your shot and pick out special effects.

8. Record the video.

9. Post the video (to the public or to your friends) or save it to your drafts.

Conclusion

TikTok is an educational and entertainment app and you can learn from the videos and enjoy
them. TikTok is one of the most popular and most used social media apps currently in the world.
Give it a try and see if you like it.

Comment:
I think it is peoples choice to download the app. I have never used Tik Tok before and I really dont want to because I would rather play rugby and get outside rather than going on social media. Thanks for reading my post.

Sacred

WALT: Understand the Virtue of Sacred (Tapu).

What is the meaning of SACRED?

Something sacred is holy, devoted to a religious ceremony, or simply worthy of awe and respect. ... Sacred is an adjective used to describe a person or thing worthy of worship or declared holy. It usually appears in a religious context, but an object or place set aside for a particular purpose can also be sacred.

Why did I post this?
Because this week at NBC our virtue is Tapu.

This is my photo of a drawing I made super quickly to represent the virtue of Tapu. It is a drawing of a bible and a cross. I drew these because they are sacred and worthy of respect.

Jonah Lomu

Why jonah lomu should be on the ten dollar note.

Jonah Tali Lomu was born on 12 May 1975 to 18 November 2015. Jonah
lomu was an inspiration to all rugby players. He was a big and strong winger.
Jonah lomu was an amazing rugby player so good he got a street in south
Auckland named after him.

Jonah lomu's parents Hepi and Semisi Lomu were his biggest suportes,
they supported him even when people bullied him. people would bully and
criticise jonah.

He played for the hurricanes in wellington new zealand and was born in
Greenland AucklandHe finished his international career with 63 caps and
37 tires.

Jonah Lomu was a very scrawny kid most people were bigger than jonah.
Most of the time he was called home for feeling ill, but his mum found out he
was faking it because of the bullying going on. But thankfully he had an extreme
growth spur, the growth spurt helped him pick up speed and get a lot more
momentum, he could also bowl over a lot of the Fords and other backs.

All the other rugby clubs he played for were some of the best for the best
players. He played for the hurricanes, blues, the chiefs, the counties manukau
rugby club, wellington rugby football club, north harbour rugby union club,
and the cardiff blues and the best for last the All blacks.

This made him to become the youngest ever All Black in history when he
played his first international game  in 1994 at the age of 19 years and 45 days.
One of the reasons he was picked was for his unusually big size, extreme pac e
and his incredible strength and fantastic balance.
most wingers in rugby aren't that strong and if they are they are normally
incredibly small and lightweight.

But sadly jonah was diagnosed with nephritic syndrome, it is a very serious
kidney disorder that jonah lomu was diagnosed with. This kidney
disorder was treated for him in Auckland City Hospital.

In May 2003, the NZRFU announced that Lomu had been put on dialysis.
Dialysis  keeps your body in balance by removing waste, salt and extra water
to prevent it from building up in the body.
He was  treated three times a week due to deterioration in his kidney function.
But sadly he passed away at the age of 40  18 November 2015, Auckland.

Former All Blacks players pay tribute to Jonah Lomu by doing an emotional
Haka during the memorial service. Friends, family and fans attended Jonah
Lomu's public memorial service on Monday to say goodbye to the New Zealand
rugby player after he died of a heart attack in the Auckland hospital.

He played in the 2002 World Cup and played 63 tests as an All Black, scoring
37 tries. In 2001 he helped New Zealand win the Rugby World Cup Sevens.
most rugby players either play for rugby sevens or super rugby, but Jonah
Lomu played both of them, jonah was one if not the most fit rugby players
ever to play.

And that's why we think Jonah Tali Lomu should be on the ten dollar note.

How to make cricket flour

We had to read a story titled 'Bugbix for Breakfast', which was about people eating bugs to save the world, slow
down global warming etc. I have made a post about how to make Cricket powder! What can you do with this once you have made it? Well you can make bread with it, muffins, cakes, you name it! Not sure if I will be eating it anytime soon, but hey, different strokes for different folks!

Camp thank you letter

In class we have been writing 'Thank You' letters to the parents or the inspector who came on camp with us in Week 5. This is my letter to Jotty, the inspector who was the camp boss. I have printed this and sent it to him as well.

Dear Jotty,

Thank you for being our school liason on camp, you helped us get to our activities on time. I appreciate how you woke up early every day to volunteer and come to talk with Mr Adams! My favourite activity with you was archery, especially when we shot the apple! I also loved how you joined our games like kickball and capture the ball, and how you kicked the ball into the bushes! Thank you for joining our meals, it was great having you around. You are the best missing link ever.

PS: I didn’t actually shoot the apple.

From your FAVORITE,

 Malachi

Dear Jamie,

Thank you for teaching us archery, you gave me the opportunity to improve my skill with a bow. I was able to get the bullseyes twice with your help and teaching us the game “scream out loud,” and  “who got the most points?”

Thank you for joining us for dinner and playing kickball, capture the ball. Your friendliness mad these games fun.

From our friendly friend
